Some quick notes for our upcoming REMDA meeting in March...March 10, 2010 at 7:30 p.m.
  • Bring in your treasure chest items...Dave Pommer has donated a coin as an incentive for members to have a chance to win a prize for bringing in a treasure chest item.
  • It will be DISPLAY NIGHT...so put together your best find's in a display case for all to view and for you to have some bragging rights...LOL!
  • If you want to sign-up for the Blue Springs Hunt...see Gerry Mros
  • 50/50 Draw Raffle Tickets...if you have sold some, please bring in your money...see Gerry Mros. If you haven't bought a ticket nows the time...last year's winner won $1,000
  • Registration for Southern Ontario Hunt...Incentive Draw if you pay your registration early...this is the last month that this incentive will be offered to REMDA members. (see below for details)

Name Tags for Club Meetings
Name tags were provided for all members. Each meeting the name tags will be available on the table when you enter the meeting room and then dropped off after the meeting in the same area.

Discussions
  • Upcoming Snow Hunt - February 28, 2010
  • Southern Ontario Beach Hunt is scheduled for May 29th and 30th 2010 - log on to www.metaldetectinghunt.com for a registration form and further details on the hunt.
  • REMDA Treasure Chests for the Southern Ontario Beach Hunt - starting collecting treasures from members. We've decided to have two treasure chests this year…1 for Saturday and 1 for Sunday. We would appreciate members to search their treasures they have found and donate an item(s) to the treasure chests.
Dave Pommer has donated a personal coin as an incentive to bring in treasure chest items - If you bring in something for the treasure chest(s) in the month of March; Dave will enter your name in a draw for an uncirculated silver dollar. Make sure that you give your treasure chest item to Dave at the March meeting to ensure that you are entered into the draw.
  • Early Registration Incentive for the Southern Ontario Beach Hunt - During the months of February and March REMDA Meetings…those who pay their registration fees early whether in cash, silver or cash/silver you will be eligible to enter a draw for a mint silver set (Value $22.50). We already have 4 members signed up. The draw will take place at the end of the March REMDA meeting.
  • Member's Listing - A list was given out to all members on our new membership for 2009-2010 membership year.
  • 50/50 Raffle Tickets for the Southern Ontario Beach Hunt - Gerry Mros, Hunt Committee Member has put together the 50/50 Raffle Tickets and presented to the members to sell or purchase. Last year's 50/50 Draw provided $1,000 to the winner. Make sure you see Gerry Mros to purchase tickets and help sell them for the REMDA Club. Money raised will help benefit the Beach Hunt with purchasing additional silver.

  • Members brought in their detectors and Dave put together a game for everyone to play.
  • Eight envelopes with instructions on them…each envelope was placed on a chair. Here were the results.

  • Also, there was a container filled with kitty litter and an object put in the container for individuals to determine the depth of the item.
The winner was tied between Joe Scheonberger and Mike MacDonald at a depth of 5-1/4" (Nickel $ prize).
Dave, on behalf of the membership thank you for putting the detecting game together I am sure everyone who participated enjoyed it…much appreciated.

Display Night
March 2010 is going to be our display night…please bring in your best finds in a display case for bragging rights and to share your finds with the REMDA membership.

April 12th or 13th for the full day - Gerry Mros is putting together a hunt at Blue Spring's. Blue Spring's has a lot of history dating back to 1918. If you are interested contact Gerry at
